May graduation

Well I am facing clinical and written comprehensive exams in about a week and a half.  May is fast approaching. I am excited and anxious at the same time. Focus Nikki, I just need to focus. My neck hurts from work stress. I plan to go for my hot stone therapy on Thursday to get me through this week.

My last day of clinicals will be on Monday and then I will be off for a few weeks. Wish me luck! Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Too much transpiring in the day to day events right now. Take a moment and breathe

Through everything, the busi-ness of daily life, work, family and school, no matter what you may be going through, I wish you moments of rest and tranquility.  It's in life's small moments, when life seems to rush by too quickly, if we only take 5 minutes to meditate, we begin to feel better.  Stress can be very helpful in reaching our goals and push us beyond what we expect from ourselves, but we still need to remember to rejuvenate the spirit so we don't become ill.  

I took a few moments to enjoy my morning coffee and read a book for class.  I am enjoying the quietness and am getting reinvigorated, myself.  May I wish everyone a happy Monday.  

I am learning to appreciate every moment. :)

Hawaii adreamin'

Sea turtles are what I remember were so amazing when I visited Maui 3 years ago. The water was so warm and comforting. There's nothing more lovely than snorkeling in the waters in Hawaii.

Another feature that is so breathtaking is the topography. The next time I visit the Hawaiian islands, I would like to take a helicopter ride to see more of the beauty of the islands.

So I am just dreaming of Hawaii today. The weather is beautiful in California. I feel very blessed, indeed. Have a lovely Tuesday everyone. Nikki B. signing off.

To relax; my favorite pasttime

Just got home from third consecutive day, 12 hour shifts and am having my glass of red wine and relaxing with a movie, my favorite pasttime! Relaxing!! Tinker Toy Soldier Spy is the movie and Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon 

 is the wine... I had a great weekend! My work buddies are so much fun. There is a lot of comraderie with team/floor nursing! Also I love the patients and their families! I so love what I do!! Of course, it's hard when someone's not getting better or having difficulty! And sometimes, I get attached and then it's hard to say "Good bye!" 

Tomorrow's another day! I hoped to be able to go for a Hot Stone Massage therapy session 

but I have to wait until Tuesday! but it will be worth the wait!! It always helps with achey backs and shoulders!
